What is an NE/CD tooth pneumatic clutch?

When we talk about an NE/CD tooth pneumatic clutch, we refer to a compact unit with pneumatic clutch and disengage spring action. Like the NE pneumatic clutch, the drive cylinder is fed with compressed air at a radial pressure of 5.5 bars. The clutch engagement process must be done when the machine is at rest or is running at a very low speed. On the contrary, the speed can be variable for the disengaging action.

Thanks to its features mechanics, the use of a toothed ring allows the use of large torques to couple mode and, depending on how the tooth is arranged, it is possible to obtain a positional clutch to keep synchronism.
