CENTRIFUGAL AND PARACHUTE SAFETY BRAKES

These are mechanical brakes designed exclusively to avoid accidents caused by the malfunctioning of the motor brake or transmission breakages.

Centrifugal; Type EC with and without hats

Centrifugal brakes allow controlled descent in the absence of motorisation and in case of breakdown of the holding brake. They do not allow uncontrolled acceleration of the load, and what would otherwise seem an inevitable accident becomes only an incident. Evidently both the holding brake and the centrifugal brake cannot avoid an accident if the anomaly is caused in the reducer or any element behind them. If the centrifugal brake is assembled with an independent transmission, it behaves as an end safety mechanism, as its action will be independent from whether a breakdown or breakage has rendered the holding brake or the reducer unusable.

Parachute; FPC IP65 protection.

The parachute safety system is a mechanical unit destined to avoiding accidental falls in rack and pinion lift mechanisms.

The system only operates when the descent speed is above a previously established value. The sensor elements function thanks to centrifugal force and wedge the follower pinion against the structure. The wedging is cushioned so the platform becomes immobilised once it has been braked.
